aesthetics , n. (Greek for “perceptible to the senses”)
A branch of anatomical science that deals with the overall health and well-being of the skin, the largest organ of the body.
Estheticians provide preventive care for the skin and offer treatments to keep skin healthy and attractive. They also manufacture, sell, and apply cosmetics.
Katharos School of Esthetics is a new esthetics training center in Lexington, Kentucky. With its exclusive focus on esthetics and direct training from experienced beauty culture professionals in skincare, hair removal, and cosmetics; it is the only esthetics school of its kind in Kentucky.
In addition to high-quality training in the artistry of skincare, the Katharos program will also include CPR and First-Aid certification for all students. This unique opportunity will give Katharos graduates an edge in the Kentucky career field since many med spa owners require licensees to have this certification. Katharos School of Esthetics is fully compliant with, and licensed by, the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology.
Melissa Anderson is the Founder and Director of Katharos School of Esthetics. She began her journey in the beauty culture industry in 1986 and worked as a stylist, salon owner, and skin care professional before beginning a full-time teaching career in 1996.
